The charity Alfie’s Squad run an in-person peer support group for children bereaved by suicide in Liverpool. To reach more children across the UK for young people aged 8-17 years of age they have started an Online Support Group.
These weekly online sessions include different fun activities and challenges for the children to take part in with the aim of reducing feelings of isolation and improving self-worth in children and young people who have suffered a loss due to suicide.
The support group is not a counselling group but a safe space where children can have fun, knowing that the other children in the group have suffered a similar loss, so they understand what each other is going through.
To register a child for the online group, a referral form is required and they will be in touch within 48 hours.
