Join Greater Manchester residents sharing their poems inspiring hope during Greater Manchester’s Month of Hope.
This year’s event will take place at Stretford Public Hall between 7-9pm. Refreshments will be available.
Compered by Salford poet “J” Ahmed, the event will include poetry readings from a wide range of people who have found writing, reading and sharing their poetry has helped them through difficult emotional times.
Greater Manchester’s Words of Hope poetry evening is part of a month of activities between World Suicide Prevention Day on 10 September and World Mental Health Day on 10 October.

Shining a light on suicide
The website has been commissioned by NHS Greater Manchester. The aim of the Shining a Light on Suicide campaign is to prevent suicide and provide support information for those bereaved by suicide and those dealing with suicidal thoughts.
