The Greater Manchester Speak Their Name Suicide Memorial Quilt is part of an exhibition at the House of Commons.

On World Mental Health Day (October 10, 2025) a week-long exhibition of all the Speak Their Name Suicide Memorial Quilts from across the UK opened at the House of Commons.

The exhibition was opened by Liz Twist MP who has personal experience of losing a loved one to suicide.

The Greater Manchester Speak Their Name Suicide Memorial Quilt was the first quilt created in the UK. Eleven other regions went on to create their own quilts with more to follow.

The Speak Their Name Charity has also since been established.

Those who contributed to the quilts could attend the exhibition.

It was the first time all the quilts had been displayed together, and MPs and visitors were able to learn more about the initiative and the impact of suicide loss.
