Many thanks to all our wonderful speakers who made it such a special event. The Cloud Gardener UK, who talked about the benefits of gardening for our mental wellbeing, Jenny Bimpson who shared how the Chatty Café CIC is tackling loneliness with connection and Beverley Bishop of Finding Magic spoke of the importance of finding joy after suicide loss. The Jordan Legacy talked about their petition for a Suicide Prevention Act, the Friends, Families and Travellers Charity about the work they are doing to prevent suicide in communities, Jolene Sheehan for sharing her poem ‘A Prayer for Small Joys’ and members of the Sing Their Name Choir who shared what the choir meant to them after the film was shared publicly for the first time.
Each speaker inspired us by demonstrating how they are ‘creating hope through action’- the theme for Word Suicide Prevention Day.
